The 2nd International School on Urban Morphology, following the inaugural edition held in Rome in 2022, will be hosted by the International Seminar on Urban Form (ISUF), the Chinese Network of Urban Morphology (CNUM), and Zhejiang University in April 2025. This event offers a unique opportunity for participants to immerse themselves in fundamental morphological theories, concepts, and methods, while exploring their practical application in the analysis and design of urban and rural landscapes.
The school aims to foster a deeper understanding of urban morphology, emphasizing its relevance for addressing contemporary territorial challenges and advancing sustainable development in built environments. Through a combination of lectures, workshops, and field studies, participants will engage with experts from various disciplines, including architecture, geography, urban planning, and landscape design, to develop skills and insights applicable to diverse socio-spatial contexts.
Applications to attend the school should be submitted via email to isum2025@sina.com by January 31, 2025.
A total of 30 students will be selected based on their applications. Participation in the program is free of charge, but participants are expected to cover their own travel and accomodation expenses.
Additionally, ISUF will provide financial support to four participants, offering two grants of 1,500 euros each for students traveling from over 5,000 km away and two grants of 1,000 euros each for students traveling less than 5,000 km.
