ISUF-H Valencia – Formas Urbanas Diversas para Espacios en Recomposición

Studies focused on the city, territory, and landscape are gaining significant relevance as a global research focus due to various factors, including: the growth and development of the world population, significant migration to urban areas, the increasing concern for living in healthy environments, the effects of climate change, and the contrasts and inequalities in urban settlement models, among others.

Thus, the contemporary city faces significant challenges, and addressing them requires responses from various disciplines and knowledge areas: architecture, urban planning, geography, sociology, landscape, economics, engineering, etc.

In this context, the International Congresses organized by the ISUF-H association approach the study of urban form and territory with a multidisciplinary, cross-sectional, and critical character, addressing themes aligned with the European Strategy for Research and Innovation 2020-2024. Starting from the general framework of urban form, numerous sub-themes are included: cultural landscapes, heritage, urban regeneration, mobility systems, healthy cities, metabolism, urban resilience, public spaces, social cohesion, unplanned cities, etc. Research areas also focus on the critical, theoretical, and historiographical review of urban form, as well as the incorporation of tools for quantitative analysis and mapping.
