PNUM 2024 Belém – Morfologias (re)existentes: Identidades, vivências e processos
September 11, 2024 - September 13, 2024
The PNUM is the international meeting of the Lusophone Network of Urban Morphology, which has been active since 2010, covers 15 countries and disciplinary fields such as Architecture and Urbanism, Urban Planning, Engineering, Geography, and History, and is part of a broader network called ISUF – International Seminar on Urban Form. ISUF has been around since 1994 and has held annual traveling seminars since 1996. In 2012, the PNUM seminars began in Portugal, and from 2014, they also started taking place in Brazil in alternate years, to promote the study of urban form in the Lusophone context, with the expectation of future conferences in African countries (Cape Verde, Mozambique, and Angola). This edition aims to place morphological analyses in peripheral contexts that have been subject to some form of colonization, and/or where there is high informality and socio-environmental conflicts, presenting them as an alternative for the identification, classification, analysis, and representation of built spaces when no data series or documentation is available.
