SUMMARY:IX ISUF‑H CONGRESS 2025: "Cities and Human Rights: Urban Form for Spatial Justice"
DESCRIPTION:The IX ISUF-H Congress 2025 continues the series of conferences organized by the Spanish and Latin American Network of Urban Morphology (ISUF-H)\, which brings together scholars and professionals from across the fields of architecture\, urban planning\, geography\, sociology\, and related disciplines. Founded in 2015\, ISUF-H is part of the broader International Seminar on Urban Form (ISUF)\, established in 1994\, which promotes the interdisciplinary study of urban form through international collaboration and annual congresses. \nThe 2025 edition\, hosted in Mexico City\, is titled “Cities and Human Rights: Urban Form for Spatial Justice”. It focuses on the role of urban morphology in addressing contemporary social and territorial challenges\, with a particular emphasis on human rights. Recognizing the city as both a space of opportunity and inequality\, the congress invites reflection on how urban form can serve as a foundation for more just\, inclusive\, and resilient environments—especially in contexts shaped by precariousness and rapid urbanization\, such as those found throughout Latin America. \nThe congress proposes five thematic panels that examine the links between spatial justice and urban form through a variety of lenses: from metropolitan rights and gender equity\, to citizen agency and emerging urban configurations. By engaging these themes\, the event aims to contribute to the collective development of critical approaches\, planning tools\, and research methodologies capable of responding to pressing urban challenges. \nThe IX ISUF-H Congress 2025 encourages inter- and transdisciplinary dialogue on how urban form intersects with the social production of space\, territorial governance\, and the everyday experience of cities. In doing so\, it seeks to strengthen the theoretical and applied dimensions of urban morphology as a field that actively shapes more equitable and sustainable urban futures. \nSelected papers will be considered for publication in associated academic journals\, and a digital proceedings volume will be made available following the event. \nKEY DATES\n\n9 December 2024 – Call for Papers published\n15 April 2025 – Submission of abstracts of presentations and posters  (updated date)\n15 May 2025 – Notification of accepted abstracts and posters (updated date)\n31 July 2025 – Deadline for submission of full papers\nFrom 15 May 2025 – Registration and payment open (updated date)\n1 September 2025 – Full conference programme published\n30 October 2025 – Final list of papers accepted for publication\n3–5 December 2025 – IX ISUF-H Congress\, Mexico City\n6 December 2025 – Guided tour of the Central Campus\, UNAM

SUMMARY:PNUM2025 - 13th Conference of the Lusophone Network of Urban Morphology: "Beyond Form: Territory and Societal Challenges"
DESCRIPTION:The 13th PNUM Conference 2025 continues the series of events organized by the Lusophone Network of Urban Morphology (PNUM)\, which has been active since 2010 in the fields of architecture\, urban planning\, engineering\, geography\, history\, and related disciplines. This network is part of a broader initiative called the International Seminar on Urban Form (ISUF)\, which began in 1994 and has held annual itinerant seminars since 1997. In 2011\, these events started taking place in Portugal\, and since 2015 they have alternated years between Portugal and Brazil\, fostering the study of urban form within the Lusophone context. \nThe 2025 edition focuses on urban form in light of the growing challenges faced by territories\, particularly those related to social\, environmental\, and technological issues. Acknowledging the importance of addressing urban morphology to enhance the overall quality of built environments\, the conference emphasizes the need to strengthen its connection with other key areas essential for urbanization\, such as socio-territorial cohesion\, urban “ecologization\,” and digital transition. These and other aspects form a framework for planning based on inclusion\, innovation\, and intelligent habitat design\, where urban form serves as the common ground for the collective construction of territory. \nThe 13th PNUM Conference 2025 aims to bring urban morphology closer to territorial planning by deepening knowledge on how to address—through and within urban forms—analyses\, guidelines\, principles\, strategies\, approaches\, methodologies\, and solutions for the myriad societal challenges affecting humanized contexts\, from climate change to artificial intelligence. The goal is to expand and strengthen\, through inter- and transdisciplinary approaches\, the articulation of urban morphology with other fields of knowledge that focus on how individuals and communities organize and experience shared living spaces\, places\, and landscapes. \nSelected articles will be published in the Urban Morphology Journal (RMU)\, and a proceedings book for the 13th PNUM Conference 2025 will also be produced. \nKEY DATES: \n\n28 January 2025: Deadline for abstract submission\n 31 March 2025: Feedback on abstracts/notification for development into full papers for accepted abstracts\n19 May 2025: Deadline for full paper submission\n9 June 2025: Feedback on papers and decision on possible revisions\n5 May 2025: Deadline for Early registration\n6 May – 2 June 2025: Regular registration period\n25\, 26\, and 27 June 2025: 13th Conference of the Lusophone Network of Urban Morphology “Beyond Form: Territory and Societal Challenges”\n\n\nMORE INFORMATION
